The UK and Switzerland have signed and updated a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding their relationship surrounding Life Sciences. The agreement serves to advance the areas of research and development, clinical trials and investment in relevant technologies.

Innosuisse, a Swiss innovation firm and Innovate UK, have subsequently announced an £8 million joint investment in 11 UK-Swiss research projects. This will involve the use of quantum technology in the development of cost-effective specialised sensors designed for use in quality control and anti-counterfeiting procedures. The collaboration has also called for further funding to support further UK-Swiss clinical trials with a view to creating novel treatments for a range of diseases.
