Samabriva, a French biotechnology company, is to open a 1,400 square metre biomanufacturing facility in Liege, Belgium. The facility is intended to strengthen Samabriva’s position in the region’s biomanufacturing ecosystem, and is designed to provide industrial scale production of high value natural molecules used in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products.

The facility will be equipped with Samabriva’s proprietary bioreactors, which have been specifically designed to maximise production in hairy root culture. This announcement comes as part of Samabriva’s growth strategy, marking a transition to industrial production following a decade of research and development. Phase one of the facility will be operational by Q1 2025 to meet the demands of the company’s first commercial international customers.
