Cradle, a platform for AI-powered protein engineering, has raised $73m in Series B funding to respond to rising demand for its technology in R&D intensive industries.

The funding round was led by VP with participation from previous investors Index Ventures and Kindred Capital, bringing the total funding raised by Cradle to date over $100m.

With the funding, Cradle, intends to expand its services to more labs around the world. The funding will support the company in expanding its wet lab to further research into additional protein modalities and properties to improve its foundational model, growing its engineering team to address more complex protein engineering challenge and scaling its go-to-market and operations to bring its platform to more scientific teams.
